Grown on the slopes of Mount Etna on a volcanic soil rich in natural microelements, the Sicilian Avocado is the best for its intense flavor and rich and creamy pulp. Thanks to the climatic conditions and the soil on which it is produced, the Sicilian avocado has unique qualities and characteristics: the taste is sweet and delicate, the flesh is buttery and creamy.

Depending on the season and availability, you will receive a specific variety of Avocado.

Description

Because of its flavor and versatility, the avocado can be enjoyed on its own or as an ingredient in both sweet and savory dishes. It is one of the few fruits that, in addition to ripening on the tree, undergoes a post-harvest ripening process, a physiological process of 6 to 9 days. To tell if the fruit is ripe, simply press the skin lightly: if it’s soft, it’s ready to eat.
The avocado is a subtropical fruit with multiple qualities: it is energizing and moisturizing, it is rich in healthy fats useful in cell regeneration and lowering cholesterol levels. It contains a wide range of antioxidants and is a source of vitamin E, which slows the aging process and protects against heart disease.
It has a smooth or rough skin – depending on the variety and maturity, from green to purple – a creamy flesh and contains a central core.
It is a tasty and nutritious food, suitable for a healthy and balanced diet, excellent to enjoy alone or as an ingredient in sweet or savory preparations.
