The story of Mammarancia is rooted in a simple yet brilliant intuition. To celebrate the first ten years of this adventure, we decided to create an object that embodies our history, our land, and our passion: an exclusive ceramic plate from Caltagirone, entirely handcrafted by artist Alessandra Pennino.

A Unique Artisan Masterpiece

This plate is not just a decorative object but a piece of Sicilian history. Shaped and painted following the ancient tradition of Caltagirone ceramics, it represents the perfect blend of art, culture, and innovation.

The undercrystal decoration, a refined majolica technique, involves applying colors directly onto the ceramic surface before glazing it with a lead-free transparent crystalline. This process gives the plate an extraordinary brilliance and depth of color, ensuring a timeless work of art.

A Design That Tells a Story

The plate’s design is a tribute to Mammarancia’s origins. The phrase “Mamma, Ti Amo, Pizza, Arancia” is not just decorative but a tribute to the very idea that sparked our journey.

Finding the perfect name for a startup is never easy, and Carlo, our founder, knew this well. During his university years, while working on an entrepreneurial project focused on marketing Francofonte’s blood oranges, he searched for a memorable and meaningful name.

One day, a friend asked him an unexpected question:
“Carlo, do you know which Italian words are the most famous worldwide?”

The answer came immediately: “Mamma, Ti Amo, Pizza.”

It was a revelation. The love for roots, family, and tradition blended with the essence of the project: bringing the true taste of Sicilian oranges to the world. Then, there was the saying his father always repeated:
“Francofonte is the mother of the Tarocco orange.”

From this connection, Mammarancia was born. A name that speaks of Sicily, affection, and authenticity.

Now, after ten years of passion and dedication, this plate symbolizes our journey—a tribute to the inspiration that started it all.
