But the truth is, this story started much earlier. To tell it, we need to go back in time, among the orange trees swaying in the wind and the skilled hands of those who have always believed in the power of nature. 🌿🍊

Our Roots: Where It All Began

Here, among sun-drenched hills and fertile lands, Grandpa Carlo planted the first orange trees with the same care one raises a child. He was a man of the land and of heart, who knew that every fruit tells a story, that every harvest is the result of patience and dedication.

His citrus groves weren’t just fields; they were a legacy to be preserved and passed down. Those trees grew over time, just like his family. And so, as the seasons passed, that passion for the land was passed from generation to generation. Until one day, his grandson Carlo decided to turn that story into something even bigger.

Mammarancia: The Name of a Dream

Choosing a name is never easy. A name isn’t just a collection of letters; it’s an identity, the way the world recognizes you.

Carlo knew this well. When he decided to create a startup to bring Tarocco Blood Oranges to the world, he knew it needed to be something special. Something that spoke of Sicily, of family, of home.

One day, between a university lecture and a chat with friends, someone asked him:
“Do you know the most famous Italian words in the world?”
“Mamma, I love you, and pizza.”

💡 That was the moment of intuition.
Carlo remembered a phrase his father often repeated:
“Francofonte is the mother of Tarocco oranges.”

And right then, in an instant, everything clicked.
